Welcome to my page that talks about the series Choujin Sentai Jetman This series premiered in the year 1991
and is known as one of the most popular super sentai series ever. The characters good and bad develop overtime and change this series has many nods to the anime series gatchaman (which we know here as G-Force and Battle of the Planets)
plot: This series takes place in 1991 on the Earth Ship, the command center of an international defence agency called Sky Force, the guardian of peace on Earth. In the ship, scientists have developed "Birdonic Waves", a newly developed technology which gives the subject superhuman abilities. Experiments called "J-Project" were successful. Aya Odagiri, the director of the project, chose five elite Sky Force officials from Earth to use this technology. Ryu Tendoh, one of the Sky Force officers, was successfully exposed to the Birdonic waves, making him the first Jetman, the Red Hawk.
However, the Earth Ship is suddenly attacked by Vyram, an evil outer-dimensional organization bent on inter-dimensional domination. They successfully destroy the ship, seemingly killing Ryu's lover and fellow candidate member Rie, in the chaos, and the remaining Birdonic waves that was meant for the other four officials become scattered on Earth, hitting four civilians instead. Odagiri and Tendou successfully escape and begin searching on Earth for the four remaining Jetman, training them to aid them in stopping Vyram's plans of conquering our dimension.

Red Hawk/Ryu Tendo 
The leader of the Jetman team and the only member who was trained before receving his powers, the vyram attacked right after he had gone through the process. Ryuu is pretty much by the book which causes conflicts with some of the other team members although he does care about them (some more then others) Ryuu was engaged to a girl named Rie Aoi but she was presumed killed when the Vyram destroyed the skybase headquarters in the first episode,unfortunately she comes back working for the vyram under the name Maria, this causes many conflicts in the last series arc.
White Swan/Kaori Roukmeikan 
One of the first members selected after the other four were accidently hit by the jetman powers. Kaori is a bit of a spoiled rich girl although she does have a good heart. A few times she has used her wealth to the team's advantage (such as trying to help a brainwashed Ako.) Kaori was standing on the balcony of her mansion when she was struck by the wayward powers, although Kaori doesn't look like it she is actually pretty good at Kendo and other then the first battle she is actually pretty brave. She was involved in a love triangle with Gai and Ryuu for most of the series.
Yellow owl/Raita Ooshi 
The third member of the team to join, Raita actually wanted nothing to do with the Jetman until the vyram started destroying nature. Raita was busy farming when he was struck by the Jetman powers. Raita like Gai and Ryuu had a thing for Kaori, but unlike the other two he stepped back although there were a few instances where it was brought up. (Such as when he tried to break up the fight between Gai and Ryuu but ended up being dragged into the fight as well.) Raita is usually pretty easy going most of the time although there were one or two instances where he lost it. In the early parts of the series he was the comedy relief but he grew out of this as the series progressed.
Blue Swallow/Ako Hayasaka 
The youngest of the group Ako is an eighteen year old highschool student. Ako recived her powers by accident when she was walking home.Ako is a bit cheeky (suc as calling Chokan an old hag when she got mad at her) and occasionally a bit greedy but overall she is a decent person (she did actually ask to be paid when she joined up but after the first battle she gave the money back.) Ako did have a bit of a brief relationship with an alien from another dimension named Dan (which is a bit ironic considering the next season) but unfortunately he was killed. Out of the cast Ako seems to have had the least amount of character development although she did have some such as the thing with the teddy bear.
Black condor/Gai Yuuki 
Gai is the last member to join and was the most reluctant. Gai and Ryuu didn't like each other at first but by the series end they were pretty good friends. Gai is just as good a fighter as Ryuu although unlike Ryuu Gai is more liable to fight dirty. He was on his motorcycle when the powers struck him. Gau briefly started a relationship with Kaori which resulted in a love triangle since Ryuu like Kaori as well. Despite their differences. Unfortunately because of these differences Kaori and Gai eventually broke up. Gai also had a rivalry with Grey of the Vyram.
The chief/Chokan 
The chief is the mentor of the jetman. Despite her harsh attitude she cares alot for her subordinates. Although the chief is more of a scientist type she can handel herself when need be.When needed to the chief will assit the Jetman such as piloting one of the other mechas to help out.She will be both caring and severe to the jetman.She was also the inventor of the mecha the jetman use. Despite being a scientist Chokan (as she is called by the jetman) has been known to be able to physically handel most of the jetman (this resulted in Ako calling her an old hag) although a bit serious the chief does have a bit of a sense of humor she just doesn't show it often.
Radigaut 
Radiguet is a cold-hearted officer who is the nearest presence to a leader of Vyram and will do anything to accomplish his goals, even help Jetman themselves. He preferred being unfront about his attacks and not a covert approach. Radiguet has ben classified as one of the most evil sentai villans to date. He has basically no redeaming qualities what so ever. He did love Maria/Rie but when he couldn't have her he killed her which caused events that led to his own death at the end of the series.
Tranza/Toran 
A psychokinetic child who specialized into creating monsters based on children's playthings to satisfy his fun desires, and thought both enemy or ally fatalities as "just part of the fun". He had great psychokinetic powers. When the Jetman began to suspect that there might be innocent civilians trapped within their enemies bodies, Ryu began to stop serious attacks, afraid of hurting the child Toran might be. This unfortunately led to the other Vyram teasing Toran. The constant anger became unbearable, driving Toran to undergo a super-rapid growth, becoming Emperor Tranza.
Grey
Grey is a robot who is among the three Vyram Dimensional group. Most occasionals he would attempt to kill off the Jetmen. In his free time he is able to smoke, drink, and play the piano.Although he was a robot Grey did seem to develop some human traits such as what was just mentioned above as well as falling in love with maria. (I swear sometimes this show was pratically a soap opera). Grey did have a rivalry with Gai breifly which was ended when he was killed in a duel with Gai near the end of the series.
maria 
The first love of Ryuu Tendo she was presumed killed when the skybase was destroyed. Ryuu still loved her when he discovered who she was. Radiguet and Grey loved her as well she was killed by Radiguet when the spell he had placed on her was broken. Although she did deal a mortal blow on Radiguet which helped the jetman destroy him in the final battle.Her body was put into the ocean by Grey who was saddend (how a robot was able to cry is unknown) We see her as a ghost in the series epilouge when she arrives briefly at Ryuu's wedding to give her blessings.
