Welcome to my page about the series Choudenshi Bioman. This series aired in the year 1984 and was the first sentai series to feature two women on the same team as well as including the first female yellow ranger. This was an interesting sentai series to watch like Jetman some of these characters were not the type you expect to see as superheros.
Plot:Many centuries ago, the android Peebo and the Bio Robo came to Earth from the fallen Bio Star. The Bio Robo showered five people with the Bio Particles, which would be passed on to later generations. In the present day, Doctor Man and his Shin Teikoku (New Empire) Gear threaten the world. Peebo must find the descendants of the original Bio Particle-showered five to form the Choudenshi (Super Electronic Squadron) Bioman.
Shiro Gou/Red one 
Shiro is the leader of the team as well as the oldest member. The bioparticles gave him the ability to talk to animals. Before this all happend Shiro had been an astronaut. He was the first of the original five we see on screne when the series starts. He pilots bio jet 1 with Hikaru. Although he is a bit of a hot head when things happen he doesn't blame his teammates. He is a bit overprotective of his teammates (such as trying to keep Jun from joining after Mika was killed.) Usually he doesn't yell much at his teammates if they did something wrong or stupid though he does get aggrivated with them. He is generally a nice guy otherwise.
Shingo Takasugi/Green Two 
The second in command of the team Shingo might act like a tough guy but he does have a soft spot for children. Shingo usually is the one that drives the bio turbo car. Though a bit of a hothead Shingo is usually pretty mellow. He pilots bio jet 2 with Ryuuta and Mika (and later Jun). Shingo is basically the strongman of the group he incorporates breakdancing into some of his fighting abilities. Shingo has on occasion played mediator once or twice (although that usually falls to Hikaru) such as trying to calm things down when Mika and Shiro got into an argument about something.
Ryuuta Nannaba/Blue three 
Ryuuta started out as a diver, although usually pretty quiet he will make himself heard when nessicary. He pilots bio jet 2 with Shingo and Mika (and later Jun) Ryuuta shared a type of rivalry with the evil android Prince. Ryuuta is a bit boyish and nimble due to his diving.note:he seemed to be the one character that had the second least character development. (The first being Mika due to her being killed off.)
Mika Koizumi/Yellow Four 1 
Mika was the last member to join up (as well as the most reluctant) she finally joined up when she had some sense knocked into her (figurtiviely and literally). Before being recruited as a bioman Mika was trying to become a photographer and follow in her brother's footsteps.Athough Mika is a bit of a loner her heart is in the right place.She had a brief rivalry with Farrah Cat. Despite the fact that Mika doesn't like to fight when push comes to shove Mika can kick ass and will stand by her friends.Unfortunately at some point in the series Mika was killed saving the other four team members. Mika piloted Bio jet 2 with Shingo and Ryuuta.
Jun Yabuki/Yellow Four 2 
The last member to to join the bioman team Jun was recruited after it was discovered she also carried the bio particles,she replaced Mika (although how these two share an ancestor is kind of confusing.) Although a bit naieve Jun will stand by the rest of the team. Jun is also an archer before being recruited to the team she was training for the olmpyics and was first shown when she encountered Hikaru who was battleing some mecha clones (the foot soldiers of the neo empire). Jun has been prone to moments of self doubt such as when she accidently shot a teammate. After becoming the second yellow four Jun piloted bio jet 2 with Shingo and Ryuuta.
Hikaru Katsuragi/Pink five 
Hikaru was a carnival flutist when the series began. At first she was most timid of the group constantly screaming and needing to be saved but she eventually evolved into a strong character by the end of the series. Although the most motherly when things get out of control if need be Hikaru will stand up for or to the rest of the team. Hikaru also has a softspot for nurses due to events in her childhood.This caused fritction between her and Jun when the Neo empire used this to their advantage. Sometimes though Hikaru's big heart can cause surprising results such as being able to teach a conscience to a computer brain that originally with the neo empire causing it to save the team at the cost of it's own life. Hikaru pilots bio jet 1 with Shiro.
Pheebo 
An android who is the guardian of the Bio Particles, Bio Robo and Bio Dragon, built as an experimental robot when the Bio Particles were in development. He came to Earth 500 years ago and showered five courageous people with Bio Particles. Now that Gear has made its move, Peebo and Bio Robo gather the descendants of the original five.
Dr. Man
Also known by his civilian identity Dr. Hideo Kageyama. Having enhanced his intellect and body with cyborg implants, Dr. Man plans to conquer the world with his army of mecha humans.
Farrah
Farrah is the female member of the Big Three. She uses beam weapons and leaves the dirty fighting to Farrahcat. Often disguises herself as human in her schemes.
Farrah Cat
Farrahcat is Farrah's bodyguard who did the dirty work, such as fighting the Biomen for her. Farrahcat is quick, agile and acrobatic. She has claws for weapons and uses twin nunchukus as well.She appeared to share a rivalry (albeit breifly) with Mika Koizumi as they would always seem to fight each other. (Farrahcat fought with her more then the other bioman in the early episodes).
Mason
Mason is the leader who once plotted against Doctor Man himself. Armed with a staff which fires bolts.
Monster 
Monster is one of the Big Three, as strong as a whale and less than half as smart. Likes to work with the monster Ju-Oh a lot.
